General

The Basics.

Common starting questions about Detroit Assemblies and what we do.

We design and manufacture custom wire harness assemblies and cable assemblies for OEMs, manufacturers, and contractors across multiple industries. Every assembly is built in our Michigan facility from prototype through high-volume production. We also provide enterprise networking and IT services through our sister offering.
We're headquartered in Detroit, Michigan โ€” right in the heart of America's manufacturing region. Site visits are welcome by appointment.
Yes. We ship throughout the United States. Most production orders ship via standard freight or expedited carriers, depending on volume and your timeline requirements.
We're a young company founded by industry veterans with decades of combined experience in custom assemblies, manufacturing operations, and IT. We're new in name โ€” not in expertise.

Production

Capabilities & Lead Times.

Questions about volumes, timelines, and what we can build.

There's no hard minimum. We work with everything from single prototypes to high-volume production runs. We'll quote what makes sense for your specific application and provide volume pricing as quantities scale.
Lead times depend on materials, complexity, and volume. After we review your spec, we provide a firm lead time with your quote โ€” and we hit it. Rush production is available when your line can't wait. Long-term contracts allow for scheduled releases and just-in-time delivery.
Yes. We're built for high-volume production. Our facility is set up to scale from hundreds to tens of thousands of units while maintaining consistent quality across every run.
Absolutely. We routinely build single prototypes and small batches for development programs, R&D, restoration projects, and pre-production validation.
Yes โ€” when production lines or critical projects can't wait, we work with you on expedited timelines. Rush capacity depends on current load, so reach out as early as possible.
Yes. If you have an existing harness you want documented or reproduced, we can reverse-engineer from the sample. Common for restoration projects, aftermarket builds, or transferring production from a previous supplier.

Quality & Compliance

Standards & Certifications.

What our processes look like and what documentation we provide.

Yes. Every harness is built at our Michigan facility. No offshoring, no third-party subcontracting. We provide full Buy American documentation and certifications of origin on request.
We are actively working toward ISO 9001 certification. In the meantime, our processes follow IPC/WHMA-A-620 standards and include full quality documentation suitable for OEM audits and customer QMS requirements.
Yes. Standard documentation includes certificate of conformance and material traceability. Custom documentation packages โ€” including FAI reports, PPAP submissions, and process validation data โ€” are available on request.
Yes. Every assembly is manufactured at our Michigan facility using domestic processes. We provide full Buy American documentation and certificates of origin with every shipment.
We are ITAR-aware and work with prime contractors on programs involving controlled technical data. Reach out with your specific program requirements and we'll discuss scope.
Yes. We work with RoHS-compliant components and processes by default. Specific compliance documentation is provided on request.
Every assembly undergoes in-house quality control before leaving our facility. This includes continuity testing, visual inspection against build documentation, and any application-specific testing called out by your spec.

Industries

Industry-Specific Questions.

Common questions from buyers in different industries.

We serve industrial and manufacturing OEMs, automotive (including Tier 1 and Tier 2 suppliers), defense and government contractors, medical equipment OEMs, energy and utilities, and commercial electronics. If you're not sure whether we're a fit, just reach out.
Yes. We can support production part approval (PPAP) submissions and work with your APQP process. Reach out with your specific automotive program requirements and we'll align our documentation accordingly.
Yes. We build both low-voltage signal harnesses and high-voltage assemblies for electric and hybrid vehicle applications, with appropriate insulation, shielding, and connector systems.
We provide documentation suitable for incorporation into your medical device QMS. We are not currently ISO 13485 certified, though we're exploring it. Many medical OEMs work with us under their own QMS umbrella for non-critical components.
